大家好：

这周的讲座我们邀请到两位很特别的讲员，一位是Penn State Smeal 商学院的女教授赵晖，一位是来自亚利桑那大学负责国际学生团契的Jon Heine。赵晖教授毕业于天津大学，在普渡大学获得工学博士学位后转入普渡大学管理学院任教，三年前转到Penn State 商学院在Supply Chain（供应链管理及信息系统系）任教。鉴于赵教授的独特经历，她对美国工学院及商学院都有了解，她将在个人分享中谈到其中的对比与学习。 赵教授在读博士期间成为基督徒，作为一位基督徒学者，多年来一直在思考究竟信神与搞科研有什么关系，这个周五的中午她将通过自己的真实经历来向大家介绍自己对这个问题的一些看见，期待能帮助国内学者看到信仰在真实工作中的影响。

Jon Heine在亚利桑那大学负责国际学生团契，非常像我们认识的Chris Cunningham，是一位热心的美国宣教士，帮助过很多的华人学生学者，赵晖教授就是其中之一，并且在Jon的帮助下接受耶稣。这周恰好他从亚利桑那来Penn State 参加朋友婚礼，我们有幸可以请到他和赵教授一起分享。据赵教授讲，他是一位非常风趣的老师，有很丰富的经历，曾经在美国空军当飞行员四年时间，后取得二外英语教育硕士，曾在北京和长春教授英语两年，在去中国之前以及回来之后是亚利桑那大学英语二外的老师。Jon 也是一位很好的讲员，鉴于自身的学术背景，对现代进化论有很深的了解，并且对科学与信仰之间的冲突也有很深的思考。在周五的讲座中他将和大家一起探讨现代进化论正确和存疑之处，以及从著名基督徒科学家的生命看待科学与信仰之间的关系。Jon的讲座是全英文，因为去过中国以及常年与中国人接触的原因，因此他的口音很容易听懂，并且他的讲题是非常适合于中国知识分子的，所以应该容易明白。期望大家能来参加这次内容丰富的特别讲座。同时也是中英结合，实践英语的机会。

BS from Texas Tech University in Mathematics and Physical Geology.
Pilot in the US Air Force for 4 years. Believed in Christ during that time and my life was changed.
MS in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Arizona.
Taught English in Beijing and Changchun (China) 1981-1983.
Worked at the University of Arizona as a teacher in the Center for English as a Second Language before and after China.
Now one of the leaders in the International Student Fellowship at the U of A...

In the Rational Reasons part, we look at the supposed conflict between Science and the Bible by looking at the lives of famous Christian scientists, 6 Rational Reasons to Believe in God and a simple diagram that shows the complementary nature of Science and the Bible.In the Evolution part we look at the modern theory of Evolution to see what is true about this paradigm and what is problematic. Two major problems are discussed. We also discuss the relationship of natural selection and the overall theory of evolution and explore the possibility that one can be true but not both...
